What are DSL modems?

Answered By Daren Edgewood, Editor

DSL modems are used and are necessary for you to have DSL service. It is a hardware where your signals will come in and go out. DSL modems are very different from your regular dial up modem. It allows you to have high speed Internet and at the same time, keep your phone line free while you are using the Internet. Most phone companies who have DSL service will include the DSL modem in the installation package; therefore, you don't need to buy a DSL modem if you want to have a DSL line.
