What are DSL routers?
Answered By Daren Edgewood, Editor
Routers are sometimes referred to as "hubs"
or "switches." The way this DSL hardware
works is that it takes the incoming broadband
signal and "routes" it to several numbers of
incoming lines. This hardware is not required
for you to have a DSL service. However, it is
recommended that you buy this hardware if you
have more than one computer, which you want
to have an active broadband DSL connection.
You should keep in mind that the router
will split your broadband signal to those
other computers and will result in slower
connection.
