How do you get high speed internet without using a phone line?

I was wondering if it’s possible to get high speed internet without going through a phone line. I live in rural Iowa, and our phone company doesnt over high speed. I know that you can get it through cable, but we already have Dish network so that wouldnt work.

DSL Feedback: there are several options available for people in rural areas. One option would be a wireless card which actually uses a USB port in order to connect to the network. If you have seriously good phone service (cell phone) this can be a pretty good solution. But remember you must have a fantastic cellphone service for instance be right underneath the tower. What a lot of people don’t realize is that you can actually use a USB adapter and obtain the same results as if you was using a laptop with a PCMCIA card.

DSL Feedback: Satellite broadband is fast but usually have a definite download limit which if you go over can cost you. Also if you want to use it for gaming your ping would be high which could be make it unplayable.
