Can you answer Devin S’s question about DSL?:

I used to have them connected through the router when we had dsl, but we had to switch to verizon usb cards because we are in the middle of nowhere. So can i still network the computers when they are using a different internet connection?

    DSL Feedback: No.

Unless you can score a wireless bridge from Verizon, hook it up to one of the LAN ports on the router, and connect the computers via WiFi to the router. DHCP must be turned off at the router for this to work.

Otherwise, each of the USB cards are WAN adapters and aren’t networkable. The router creates a LAN segment, but the USB cards connect directly to the ISP. It’s like each computer having it’s own DSL line.

DSL Feedback: Actually this might work. If you have two computers with shared areas on the hard drive and you plug each into the four LAN ports you should be able to see each of them.

DSL Feedback: It will do exactly what you want. make sure each computer is in the same workgroup. set up the dhcp server on the router.
