How bad is it to have Verizon DSL come through your regular home phone landline? Is it better to come in separ?

Can you answer Godv8.0’s question about DSL?:

Is it better to have Verizon DSL line come into your house separately from another landline? I have a separate landline that’s not currently in use.

I worry if I have DSL coming in through the same landline as my active phone, it might mess up voice calls? Even if it’s say 3% of the time, it’s still a no no.

Thanks for any help.

DSL Feedback: DSL was made to work with an existing telephone line, so that the expense of a second dedicated data circuit is not required..

you do need to hava a DSL filter on EVERYTHING except the DSL modem… that includes not only your phones, but fax machines, satellite receivers if they are connected to the phone line, your house alarm system… etc…
